The Kohl’s Corporation owns and operates Kohl’s, an American retail chain of department stores. As of February 2013, it has 1,158 locations, operating stores in every state except Hawaii, and it is the largest department store chain in the United States. The company was founded by Polish immigrant Maxwell Kohl, who opened up a corner grocery store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1927.
