World Market began in the 1950s, when a San Francisco businessman turned traveler and importer began selling shiploads of hand-woven wicker from one of the city’s piers. They bring excitement of global bazaars with an ever changing selection of everything from Balinese baskets, pottery from Portugal and collectibles from Africa to scrolled artwork inspired by Spanish artifacts. Some popular food items at world market include Hawaiian Isles Kona Coffee, Milka Chocolate, Zapp's Voodoo Potato Chips, Haribo Gummies and Tim Tams.
